PASSION POWER PRECISION

Through our performance, outreach, education, and new creation initiatives, we strive to give a voice to the voiceless by using dance as a vehicle to make waves and push societal change. Through the art form of dance, specifically classical and contemporary ballet, Ballet Boy Productions explores the experience of being a man of color through self-celebration and joy while also unveiling the injustices that have occurred throughout history and continue to occur.

We serve as a conduit to present male classical & contemporary ballet artist of color while fostering and educating young artists and audiences. We dance to touch and change lives and create avenues for a brighter future. A future of equal respect, justice, opportunities, inclusivity, and diversity.

OUR INITIATIVES

BALLET BOY PRODUCTIONS (present)

Ballet Boy Productions professional performing dance company will consist of eight male dancers. The company will focus on performing, creating, and curating works centered around the black male experience in America. We will also have a strong focus on educational outreach, targeting our performances, lectures, and classes to those areas in America that lack exposure to the arts.

BALLET BOYS WORK (starting 2021)

Training and mentoring initiative. Ballet Boys Work is Ballet Boy Productions summer dance training & mentoring program. This program aims to train and develop men of color to be professional dancers in the ballet idiom. The program will focus on building technique, personal and professional development through building relationships that will assist all participants in the goal of becoming a well-rounded artist on and off stage. This program will also develop our future arts administrative leaders. We will implement the teaching of the analytical, management and leadership skills needed to run and operate non-profit arts organizations.

BALLET BOYS CREATE (starting 2022)

New Choreographic Works Initiative. The choreographic laboratory helps male and female choreographers of color develop work and their choreographic esthetic in the ballet idiom. Utilizing Professional dancers throughout the year and working with our students in the summer. This program is designed to foster and develop talent.
